"The rain. Incessant rain." That is the first memory that comes to Sue Bevan's mind when she thinks of 21 October 1966. She was 10 years old on the day of the Aberfan disaster, when 144 people, including 116 children, were killed after a pile of coal slid down the mountain and hit Ysgol Gynradd Pantglas and nearby houses.
