After the crew of the Togo-flagged Alit reported an explosion on board the morning of September 20 at around 6.50 a.m., the leadership of the Naval Staff ordered, according to operational procedures, the dispatch of a battleship to the Sulina sea district.

The ship, flagged Togo, sent an emergency message requesting help Wednesday morning at 6.50 a.m. informing that an explosion had occurred on board and requesting the rescue of the crew, according to a Coast Guard official. A Coast Guard ship and one of ARSVOM went there, 10 miles offshore, where the ship was and recovered the crew.
