Rumoured Strictly Host Josh Widdicombe Drops Major Hint He Has Secured BBC Role
BBC bosses have reportedly offered Josh Widdicombe a big-money role after chemistry tests helped him beat other contenders for the presenter lineup.
Comedian Josh Widdicombe has reportedly been offered a deal to join Emma Willis as host of Strictly Come Dancing, with The BBC filling roles after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman's departures.
Widdicombe impressed producers during chemistry tests with Willis, entering the running later than other candidates but nailing auditions. The broadcaster believes his live TV experience on The Last Leg makes him "the man for the job."
Professional dancer Johannes Radebe will join the team as a "roving reporter" behind the scenes, offering fresh perspective. Widdicombe is already familiar with the production from his appearance in the 2024 Christmas Special.
Taking to X, viewers have reacted with skepticism, with one user writing, "Emma is great for this but giving her Josh to work with is... not it." Others called the pairing unconvincing.
While reports suggest the deal is "his for the taking," The BBC has not officially confirmed the lineup. A spokesperson stated plans for the 2026 series will be announced in due course.
