The OECD excludes Catalan results because too many students are excluded.
Coinciding with the return of thousands of children to school and the first day of strike called by teachers, the expected PISA results were also known this Tuesday: Catalonia would improve its results compared to 2022 in the three skills analyzed —science, mathematics and reading— and would be above the Spanish average and the OECD countries.
The Catalan results are not valid and cannot be compared with those of the rest of the territories or with those of previous editions due to the high number of students excluded from the test.
The PISA 2025 report, which assesses the level of competence in mathematics, science and reading comprehension of fifteen-year-old pupils in OECD countries, indicates a notable improvement in Catalonia compared to 2022 in all competences and places it above the average in these countries.
