The Mandate of the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Burundi Renewed

The UN Human Rights Council renewed on Tuesday 6 October 2026 the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on human rights in Burundi for one year. The renewal takes place on the eve of the presidential elections scheduled for 03 May 2027 in Burundi. Gitega rejects the decision.
