A low-pressure area is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility today and may develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
The Observatory stated that a subtropical high-pressure ridge will cover southern China in the next day or two, bringing generally sunny and hot weather to the region.
