The Ukrainian ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, commented on the tragic attack that took place at the Benedictine Sisters' Monastery in Jarosław. In an interview with TVN24
Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Vasyl Bodnar apologized for the tragedy in Yaroslavl, where a 31-year-old Ukrainian man attacked a monastery. He denied media reports that the man served in the Ukrainian army.
The attack in Yaroslavl is being exploited to spread a false narrative about Ukrainians being favored by Polish services, says Małgorzata Szumna, an expert from NASK's Narrative Trend Analysis and Fact-checking Team. Posts have appeared online suggesting that the detained Ukrainian citizen was allegedly not handcuffed due to his nationality.
The prosecutor's office has filed charges against a Ukrainian knifeman who killed a priest and seriously injured two other priests and two lay people in Yaroslavl on Thursday. Investigators have not yet questioned the perpetrator due to his mental condition.
