Bulgakov Monument Dismantled on Andriivskyi Descent in Kyiv. VIDEO
A monument to Russian and Soviet writer Mikhail Bulgakov was dismantled on Andriivskyi Descent in Kyiv by municipal services.
The removal was captured in a video posted by Suspilne presenter Kateryna Nekrecha showing workers loading the monument near the Mikhail Bulgakov Literary Memorial Museum.
In 2024, the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory classified all objects related to Bulgakov as symbols of Russian imperial policy.
The Kyiv City Council resolved in December 2025 to remove 15 objects linked to Russian imperial and Soviet history, including the Bulgakov monument.
In Kiev, on 4 June, the memorial to Mikhail Bulgakov was dismantled, and the sculpture of Nikolai Rapaya was at the museum of the writer on the Andreev descent.
