Rock Royalty Returns: The Joe Perry Project Electrifies Tampa’s Hard Rock Event Center
The Joe Perry Project’s new lineup includes members from Aerosmith, The Black Crowes, and Stone Temple Pilots, performing a set heavy on Aerosmith classics, in a 10-show U.S. tour.
- THE JOE PERRY PROJECT kicked off its U.S. tour Wednesday night at Hard Rock Event Center in Tampa, Florida, with a setlist including Aerosmith, Black Crowes, and Stone Temple Pilots songs.
- Following uncertainties about Aerosmith’s future and reports of Steven Tyler’s injured larynx, Perry launched the Joe Perry Project to keep music alive.
- For its debut show, the band played Aerosmith classics like “Same Old Song and Dance,” “Mama Kin,” “Last Child” and “Draw The Line” alongside Black Crowes and STP songs.
- On August 11, Perry announced that Stone Temple Pilots drummer Eric Kretz would miss the tour due to a family emergency, with Jason Sutter filling in on drums.
- The tour hits Hollywood, Florida, on Thursday, with eight scheduled dates, and overall ten Joe Perry Project shows are planned.
