Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bekayi stated that the contacts established with the US on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly were facilitated by Qatar, adding, "This interaction was facilitated to convey our conditions, including the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, the halting of aggressive actions by the US, the naval blockade and economic warfare, and the release of frozen Iranian assets."
US and Iranian delegations held indirect talks through Qatar on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. While Iran conveyed its demands to Washington, the US side stated that it hoped the talks would yield constructive results.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bekayi announced that contacts with the US during the UN General Assembly were being conducted through Qatar. Bekayi said that demands such as an end to the war, lifting of the naval blockade, and release of frozen Iranian assets were conveyed during the talks.
