The illegal cigarette trade has deprived the state of $2 billion in 20 years

One of the most lucrative articles of organized crime, right after the arms and drug trade, is the illegal production of cigarettes. Over the past twenty years, Czech customs officers have managed to uncover 47 factories, secure more than 240 million cigarettes and 950 tons of tobacco. Tax evasion amounted to CZK 2.2 billion.
