Hand washing is becoming as important as it was during Covid. Hepatitis A, known as the disease of dirty hands, is spreading more than ever in the Czech Republic this year. To date, it has been confirmed in 424 people this year, which is more than ten times the number for the same period last year. Six people have already died from the infection.

This region has once again recorded the highest number of hepatitis patients in 2024, 3320 of the 17,387 cases detected in the country, a consequence, according to medical staff, of the lack of education and awareness among the population about risk behaviours.
