This is how Jana Pometlová, a doctor at the Ostrava University Hospital, remembers the tragic shooting in which seven patients died in the waiting room of the trauma center exactly five years ago. The doctor was one of those who came to honor the memory of the victims on Tuesday.
Five years ago, when a doctor in the trauma clinic of Ostrava University Hospital heard gunshots from the waiting room, she thought it was some kind of joke at first. It occurred to her that someone was shooting crack balls. "When the screams and wails were heard, I began to realize what was happening," recalls Jana Pometlová. On Tuesday, she came together with others to honor the memory of the victims of the attack on December 10, 2019.
