The house of Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar, one of the master writers of Turkish literature, located on Heybeliada Island, has remained closed to visitors for years despite the completion of its restoration. The Friends of the Island Association and the Turkish Writers' Union will hold a press conference in front of the house on August 16th, calling for the house to be opened as a museum.
