The European Union will unveil a list of key technologies to defend against China

The list will be published early Tuesday afternoon. A press conference is scheduled for 15:30.

The announcement comes as the EU opened an investigation in September into alleged illegal aid from Beijing to Chinese electric car manufacturers, raising tensions with the Asian giant.

The European Commission is due to unveil on Tuesday (3 October) a list of key technologies that should be better monitored and defended against rival states such as China.

“We must ensure that the capital of European companies, their knowledge [...] are not misused by certain countries for military applications,” Ursula von der Leyen warned.
