Despite a commitment to US President Donald Trump to purchase $750 billion (over €636 billion) of US energy over three years, the European Union has spent 7 percent less on US oil and gas over the past four months. According to Kpler estimates, reported by the Financial Times, between September and December, US imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and oil were worth $29.6 billion (€25.1 billion), a decline largely due to falling energy prices.
