Protesters in the Azores protest against the use of the League Base in U.S. military operations in Iran, demanding that Portugal respect international law and promote peace in the Middle East.
Under the rain, in a parking park 100 metres from the entrance of the Base of Lakes, on the Third Island, a little more than two dozen protesters, including the leader of the Bloc of the Left/Azores and other party leaders, shouted "Lajes for peace, not for bombing" and "We want peace on the continent in the Middle East".
Real protesters are the Spanish example and ask the Government for strength to criticise the war in the Middle East.
A few more than two dozen people today have shown themselves against the use of the infrastructure as a platform for military operations related to the United States' attack on Iran.
