'We're Working on Something' - Top Comedian Teases Return of Popular BBC Sitcom
Greg Davies says the BBC comedy is not finished and that he will keep writing, after three series and a Christmas special.
Comedian Greg Davies teased that his popular BBC sitcom The Cleaner is not finished, confirming during an interview on The One Show that "we're working on something" while declining to specify the format.
Premiering on BBC One in 2021, the sitcom follows Paul "Wicky" Wickstead, a government-certified cleaning technician who removes biohazard debris from crime scenes, based on the German comedy Der Tatortreiniger.
The show boasts a 7.1/10 rating on IMDb from more than 8,000 reviews, with audiences praising its "great mix of humour and depth" and guest stars including Helena Bonham Carte and David Mitchell.
Following a second series and Christmas special in 2022, a third series aired in autumn of 2024, establishing the show's consistent presence in the BBC comedy lineup.
The former BBC drama Monarch of the Glen is reportedly being rebooted on Channel 5 with a "fresh reimagining" centered on London lawyer Isla Campbell, featuring an entirely new cast.
