The children’s book that parents, teachers, and neurodivergent families have been waiting for
The debut picture book pairs a companion app with school and library visits to support emotional understanding and inclusive play.
Marigold R. Linaker announced her debut picture book, Cobie the Cactus: Happy As He Is, publishing May–June 2026 under her imprint Many Petals Press, with publishing services provided by London Book Publishers.
Written for children aged three to seven, the book portrays neurodivergent experiences with accuracy and dignity, avoiding stereotypes while placing neurodiversity at the story's heart without labels or fixing.
Cobie lives in a busy garden where everything feels overwhelming, struggling to communicate as others expect; he discovers he does not need to change to belong, offering a powerful message of recognition.
The book will be available on Amazon during May–June 2026, while a companion interactive app is in development to support emotional understanding and inclusive play for young readers.
Virtual launch events will include a live reading and Q&A across UK schools and libraries; early readers have already described the book as the one they wish existed years ago.
