History of the Brazilian Championship: formats and all the champions
This Saturday (29), another edition of the Brazilian Championship begins. The competition officially began to be held in 1971. But as time went on, other tournaments were considered as National Championships. In 2010, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) recognized contests starting in 1959 (Brazil Cup and Silver Cup) as Brasileirão titles. In 2023, the entity also approved the “1937 Tournament of Champions”, won by Atlético-MG.
