Less than a year before the presidential elections, the polls put Jean-Luc Mélenchon in a position to fight with Édouard Philippe in the second round against Marine Le Pen. But if the leader of LFI can claim the "useful vote" on the left, the projections of the second round reverse the proposal: his qualification would ensure a victory for Madame Le Pen. Edouard Philippe, however, receives better postponements of votes, is not sure to win.
The pressure was on Edouard Philippe, who was opposed to primary school, while Gabriel Attal and Bruno Retailleau were in favour of it, in a context of dispersal of applications.
