LIMA PROVINCE, METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY OF LIMA, JUN 19 – Maido rose from fifth place in 2024 to claim the top spot, recognized for its innovative Nikkei cuisine blending Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients.
- Maido, a Nikkei cuisine restaurant in Lima, Peru, was named the World's Best Restaurant 2025 at a ceremony on June 19 in Turin, Italy.
- This annual ranking involved votes from 1,120 culinary experts worldwide and saw Maido take over from 2024 winner Disfrutar of Barcelona, now in the Best of the Best hall of fame.
- The 2025 list features ten new entries including North American restaurants Arca, Huniik, and Alcalde, with Bangkok contributing six restaurants including Potong, the highest new entry.
