The European Union is preparing its clearest commitment so far to ban access to social networks for minors. According to Euractiv, the President of the European Commission, the German Ursula von der Leyen, will take advantage of her annual State of the Union speech on 16 September to announce a veto that will affect the entire bloc.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is scheduled to announce proposals for an EU-wide ban on children's use of social media during her annual State of the European Union address. Euractiv reported, citing EU officials and diplomats, that the speech will take place on September 16 in Strasbourg.
