- Opposition scrutiny intensified after reports revealed Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi recorded objections at least 14 times over a 10-month period regarding Special Intensive Revision decisions and orders issued without their knowledge.
- The march will proceed from Byculla to the BMC headquarters on October 4, with participants carrying only the Tricolour. Raj Thackeray invited all parties to join, stating, "Guilty conscience needs no accuser."
- Separately, Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke announced a "Jail Bharo Andolan" at Shivaji Park on October 2. Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray also voiced support for protests against CEC Kumar.
- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has demanded Kumar's resignation and said the party would "fight seriously" over the SIR issue. The Congress Working Committee plans to discuss the matter on Tuesday as opposition momentum builds.
