(The Center Square) – Despite market uncertainty in the energy market, the upstream sector of the Texas oil and natural gas industry added jobs in May.

According to TIPRO’s analysis, direct Texas upstream employment for May totaled 208,200, an increase of 2,200 industry positions from April employment numbers, subject to revisions. This represented an increase of 600 jobs in the services sector and 1,600 jobs in oil and gas extraction.
