Tesco issues urgent recall on potentially unsafe product warning 'do not eat it'
Tesco recalled all 258g packs of 6 Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns with use-by dates up to Dec 13 due to undeclared milk, posing risks for shoppers with milk allergies, the Food Standards Agency said.
- Yesterday, the Food Standards Agency publicised that Tesco recalled the Tesco 6 Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns due to an undeclared milk allergen.
- Tesco identified the cause as undeclared milk, making the Tesco 6 Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns potentially unsafe for people with a milk allergy or intolerance, the Food Standards Agency said.
- Tesco advised customers to return affected packs with use-by date codes up to December 13 this year and in a 258g pack for a full refund, Tesco said no other products are affected.
- People with milk allergies are being urged not to eat the product, and the FSA said Tesco has contacted relevant allergy support organisations about the recall.
- The FSA advises it issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to inform consumers and local authorities, and Tesco directed customers to tesco.com/help/contact for details.
