Tesco brings in new double points Clubcard scheme for Christmas

Until December 31, Tesco has launched a double-points Clubcard promotion awarding two points for every £1 spent on gift cards this Christmas.
Typically, gift cards do not earn Clubcard points, so Tesco's policy change is notable since it stocks the widest range of gift cards of any UK retailer.
At selected Tesco stores, the offer covers third-party gift cards, and points redeemed with Clubcard Reward Partners could be worth up to 4% back on spend.
Shoppers say the scheme is a smart way to stretch Christmas budgets by buying gift cards for planned spending or presents.
Viewed against normal rules, the change makes Tesco’s gift card offer twice as generous, with Ban Mahsoub, Partnerships Director at Tesco Insurance and Money Services, saying it `gives a little something back`.
