Fallen trees on roads or power lines, flooded roads and cellars, evacuated campsites. Firefighters throughout the Czech Republic recorded hundreds of trips due to the weather during Friday afternoon and evening. They responded to 370 incidents within seven hours. The Central Bohemian Region, South Bohemian Region and Prague were the most affected.
Firefighters have had 715 interventions due to storms since Friday afternoon, most of them in the Central Bohemian Region. They were mainly pumping water from flooded cellars and clearing fallen trees. According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), there has been isolated rainfall of up to 100 mm (liters per square meter) in the last 24 hours. Heavy rains from Friday to Saturday have made it harder for firefighters and railway workers to work, who had to limit traffic on two lines.
