- Music City Loop will link downtown Nashville, lower Broadway and West End to Nashville International Airport in about eight minutes, with The Boring Company fully funding the 40-year, $34 million agreement secured earlier this month.
- Construction begins immediately as The Boring Company says the shovel-ready project’s first segment is expected operational by the end of this year and meets NFPA-130 safety standards.
- Officials say the project will be 100% privately funded with no cost to taxpayers, create job opportunities for Tennesseans, remove thousands of vehicles from surface roads, and open potential system expansion in Nashville and statewide.
- Opponents warned of unresolved safety, labor, environmental, and geological concerns as Metro Nashville officials said, `There was no response to this body until I filed legislation opposing this project`.
