It wasn't a new record - but Friday was very hot everywhere in Germany. The warmest place was in the north of Bavaria, followed by one in Rhineland-Palatinate. In the evening there were heavy thunderstorms in many places.
Bavaria sweats: The temperatures rise to up to 37 degrees. From the afternoon on, showers and thunderstorms threaten – in some regions even hail and storm gusts.
The German Weather Service expects temperatures of over 30 degrees in the shade for the next few days. A city in Lower Franconia regularly breaks heat records. That's why.
The weather service is warning of high heat stress on the body. The warning applies to the entire state on Friday. It will be even hotter in other parts of Germany.
