Telus CEO Darren Entwistle to Retire After 26 Years in the Top Job

On Feb. 12, 2026, Telus Corp. announced Darren Entwistle will retire as CEO on June 30, 2026, and Victor Dodig, a Telus board member and former CIBC CEO, will become CEO on July 1.
Amid investor pressure over slowing growth, Telus sold a 49.9 per cent stake in wireless towers to Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec, raising $1.26 billion last year.
Over 25 years, Darren Entwistle has led Telus since 2000, with John Manley praising `Under Darren's leadership, the TELUS team has consistently demonstrated a shared passion for purpose, fusing technology, social innovation and human compassion to create a friendlier future for all stakeholders.`
Announcing alongside fourth-quarter results, Telus reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings 20 Canadian cents per share and operating revenue $5.26 billion, down from $5.38 billion in the prior fourth quarter.
It is the second time Telus has tried succession, with Victor Dodig, former CIBC CEO and Telus independent director since 2022, retiring last year.
