Companies approaching by telephone will no longer be able to do so if they have not previously obtained the informed consent of consumers, according to a decree published in the Official Gazette.
As of Tuesday 11 August, companies will have to obtain the consent of consumers before proceeding with the call-up. A certain legislative advance, however, which risks encountering the reality of the environment, tempered the consumer associations.
New rules come into force this Tuesday and radically change approach: from now on, a consumer can only be called if he or she has explicitly given his or her consent.
From now on, companies will have to obtain consumer consent before any commercial prospecting by telephone, this consent being "understood as a manifestation of free, specific, enlightened, univocal and revocable will."
