Teenager charged with murder of university student in Leicester
Harper Dennis faces murder and multiple weapon possession charges after Khaleed Oladipo died from a stab wound near De Montfort University, police said.
On Saturday, February 7, Harper Dennis, 18, of North Road, West Drayton, London, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Khaleed Oladipo, 20, De Montfort University cyber security student, was stabbed near the Innovation Centre on Oxford Street and died on Tuesday, February 3.
Family members paid tribute, calling Khaleed 'an extremely loved son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and friend' after he was assaulted near Bonners Lane around 5pm on Tuesday and taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Leicestershire Police said the accused faces further unrelated weapon charges and urged anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident number 495 of February 3.
Amid a police cordon earlier this week, Khaleed's family thanked the public and emergency services for their efforts, expressing sadness over his death.
