‘Ted: The Animated Series’: Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg & Amanda Seyfried to Reprise Film Roles
The series continues the film franchise 12 years later and reunites Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Barth.
Peacock is developing Ted: The Animated Series, reuniting Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Ted with film stars Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth to continue the bear and John Bennett's adventures.
Following the success of the live-action prequel, Peacock ordered the new project to continue the Thunder Buddies' story, picking up twelve years after the final film's events as John and Ted navigate midlife.
The show explores John and Ted as neighbors with families and dead-end jobs, remaining "Thunder Buddies" while navigating suburban life, fatherhood, and marriage with their wives Tami-Lynn and Sam.
UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the series in association with MRC, building on Peacock's official order placed in May 2025 to expand the franchise across animated platforms.
An official premiere date remains pending as MacFarlane currently focuses on the live-action prequel's second season, which premiered in March 2026; fans await the animated series' debut announcement.
