Former supply teacher jailed for six years after taking more than 100 upskirt photos of children
Abusali Rahman admitted 21 child sex offences after police found upskirting footage and deepfake images shared online, with a 20-year prevention order imposed.
Supply teacher Abusali Rahman, 37, was jailed for six years at Bolton Crown Court today after admitting 21 child sex offenses, including secretly photographing schoolgirls and creating AI-generated sexual images of pupils across seven schools.
Greater Manchester Police traced Rahman's offenses to him in March 2025 after a parent discovered her daughter's photograph on social media, revealing how he exploited his teaching position to covertly capture upskirting images.
Prosecutor Tom Farr told the court Rahman's devices contained 226 category C upskirting images and AI-generated deepfakes, while Judge Kenderick Horne noted Rahman prepared to charge £20 for content via Telegram, describing it as a 'gross breach of trust.'
Judge Horne imposed a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order banning Rahman from schools and placed him on the Sex Offenders Register, following his guilty plea in May 2026 at Bolton Crown Court.
An NSPCC spokesperson warned that tech firms must be held accountable for deepfake proliferation, while police cited difficulty tackling such crimes due to insufficient AI regulation and the rapid emergence of unregulated platforms.
Abusali Rahman, a father of one himself, had photographed at least 15 girls aged 13 to 16, who attended seven schools in the Greater Manchester area - He used AI to edit them
