Ready for Season 3 of ‘Lionness’?
The eight-episode season brings back Zoe Saldaña as Joe McNamara, who faces hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals.
- On Sunday, August 2, the Taylor Sheridan-created spy thriller Lioness premiered its third season on Paramount+ with the first episode, "The Spider and the Fly." Zoe Saldaña stars as CIA station chief Joe McNamara.
- McNamara leads a covert unit alongside CIA Clandestine Service supervisor Kaitlyn Meade, CIA Deputy Director of Operations Byron Westfield, and U.S. Secretary of State Edwin Mullins, all returning for the new season.
- Consisting of eight episodes, the season portrays McNamara struggling to balance CIA responsibilities with her personal life and relationship with husband Neal McNamara, a pediatric oncology surgeon.
- Paramount+ releases new episodes weekly on Sundays at 3 a.m. ET, with the finale scheduled for September 20. The ad-based Essential tier costs $8.99 per month.
- Cast members including Force Recon Marine Laysla De Oliveira undergo rigorous training at Sheridan's ranch to perform demanding action sequences. "The reality of the situation is you do it so that you can even hold the weight of the weapons, of the vests, of the helmet," De Oliveira explained.
