Tax filings: ACC paid average of $47.1M to full-share member schools, Big 12 paid average of $39.5M
The ACC and Big 12 each set revenue records, but payouts still trail the Big Ten and SEC as new distribution rules take hold.
In annual tax filings this month, The Atlantic Coast Conference reported about $826.5 million in revenue for a sixth straight record year, while the Big 12 reported $610.9 million.
Despite these gains, both leagues continue to lag behind the Big Ten and Southeastern Conference, which each crossed the $1 billion mark in total revenue for the same season.
Commissioner Jim Phillips championed a new "success initiative" for the ACC, which paid an average of nearly $47.1 million to 14 full-share members, including a $55.1 million payout for Clemson.
Brett Yormark's Big 12 distributed payouts ranging between $37.9 million and $43 million to new additions Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah, with the league average at around $39.5 million.
The ACC revamped its revenue-distribution plan to factor in TV viewership, though the financial impact of this change will not appear until the 2025-26 season tax filing next year.
