Talking About Domestic Abuse Might Put an End to It Forever, Queen Tells Summit
Queen Camilla addressed the End Violence Against Women and Girls Summit 2026 at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, an event organized by Fiona, the Marchioness of Lansdowne to tackle domestic abuse.
Lady Lansdowne chairs the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls coalition, a multi-agency partnership established in 2024 to address stalking and domestic abuse through community engagement.
SafeLives patron, the Queen stated she "realised the depth of the horror" of abuse through survivor conversations. Campaigners Julie Devey and Carole Gould emphasized teenagers are now the largest demographic affected by domestic abuse.
Delegates prioritized education as essential to tackling abuse, advocating for relationship and sex education in schools and colleges up to age 18 to teach young people to identify coercive behaviors.
The Queen urged continued dialogue to "put an end to it forever," praising Wiltshire for "leading the way in this quest" to end domestic violence and break the stigma surrounding abuse.
