The Taliban on Monday confirmed an attack on their Department for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (PVPV) in the northern city of Maimana, the center of Faryab province. Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, a Taliban spokesperson for the ministry, said an assailant attempted to enter the compound but was “neutralised” before reaching his target.
