Takaichi Decries Alleged Okinawa Murder by U.S. Marine, Urges Cooperation

- Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi lodged a "strong protest" with U.S. Ambassador to Japan George Glass on Sunday; about 160 people protested in Naha condemning the crime.
- Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi addressed the incident Monday in parliament, telling lawmakers the government "strongly protests" and demanding "strict discipline among U.S. military personnel."
- Newly elected Okinawa Gov. Genta Koja plans to travel to Tokyo this week to meet Takaichi and call for a "thorough investigation and measures to prevent further cases.
