Asylum seeker accused of sex attacks told police he walked woman home as 'act of kindness'
Sheikhi told police he was helping one woman home, while prosecutors allege he assaulted two women and pinned one against a tree.
Syrian asylum seeker Muhammad Sheikhi is on trial at Stirling Sheriff Court, denying charges of sexually assaulting two women in Falkirk on November 30, 2025.
Police arrested Sheikhi at the Hotel Cladhan after allegations he seized and sexually assaulted two women in Kerse Lane and Bellsmeadow skate park during early morning hours.
Yesterday, the court viewed CCTV footage showing Sheikhi walking alongside an alleged victim wearing his shoes. During his police interview, he claimed he offered them as "an act of kindness."
Defense lawyer Paul Keenan stated his client denies anything sexual "of any type at any time occurred on evening in question," challenging the prosecution's predatory conduct allegations.
Sheikhi told officers he acted out of "pity" for a distressed stranger, citing a childhood pledge made after his parents died in Syria: "whenever I see a person in need I will try and help them.
