Sylt gets almost two million cubic meters of new sand after storm floods

In April, sand is to be poured on Sylt again to secure the coast of the island. The cost: 12.5 million euros.

Every year storm floods tear large holes into the Sylter beaches. Now 1.7 million cubic meters of sand is to be washed up to protect the coast. The state government invests 39 million euros for this.
