Swiss President to visit Noida International Airport during India tour
The visit is expected to produce several agreements on trade, investment, science and mobility as India and Switzerland deepen bilateral cooperation.
On Monday, Swiss President Guy Parmelin began a three-day state visit to India, holding talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
Marking his first state visit and second trip to India this year, Parmelin aims to build on regular high-level exchanges and expand cooperation in science, technology, trade, and investment.
External Affairs minister Jaishankar will call on the Swiss President on Monday; President Droupadi Murmu will host an official banquet in his honour on Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday, Parmelin will address the second India-EFTA Prosperity Summit in New Delhi, marking the first anniversary of the TEPA coming into force.
India signed the TEPA in March 2024 with four European Free Trade Association members—Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway—with Switzerland as the largest trade and investment partner.
