Swiss Postal System - Federal Council wants to ease quality requirements for postal delivery

Newly, the post office should only have to supply settlements instead of individual houses – the consultation runs until August 6th.

Newly, only 90 percent of all parcels and letters have to arrive on time. Moreover, the post office should no longer have to supply around 60'000 households.

The Swiss Post is becoming Switzerland's electronic mailbox. Postal Service Executive Board member Nicole Burth explained what this means in an interview with 20 Minuten.

The Federal Council wants to give the post office more flexibility in the delivery of letters, parcels and daily newspapers, allowing for more delays. On Wednesday, it sent a corresponding amendment to the regulation to the consultation.
