Swans Players Involved in Alleged Police Incident Overnight
On Monday, the Sydney Swans confirmed several players were involved in an alleged incident on Sunday night, with Victoria Police investigating a report of a sexual assault in East Melbourne.
The incident occurred at the Pullman East Melbourne on Wellington Parade early Monday morning, where players were staying following a 36-point victory over Essendon at the MCG on Sunday.
According to The Herald Sun, police were seen at the hotel on Wellington Parade, while Tom Morris reported the club is "aware of details, which are believed to be sensitive and potentially very damaging to star players."
The Swans have notified the AFL and relevant authorities regarding the matter, noting in a Monday statement they "cannot provide further comment at this stage" while investigations remain ongoing.
Sydney currently sits second on the ladder with one regular season game remaining and is scheduled to face North Melbourne this weekend amid the unfolding investigation.
