Many people in Germany are no longer able to correctly recognize whether information on the Internet is genuine or not. In a survey by the IT industry association Bitkom, almost two thirds (63 percent) of respondents said that it was generally difficult to assess whether news is reliable. 41 percent also frequently encounter content that they are unsure of whether it is correct.
