The President of the Republic said today that it is everyone's duty to improve the National Health Service (SNS), which he defended to be essential, and reiterated the call for the health pact that he proposed still in electoral campaign.
On the day that 47 years of the National Health Service were reported, the Head of State argued that "there is no health at the service of everyone without a public system that guarantees it".
Before the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health, the Head of State recalled the anniversary of the 47 years of the SNS, which he considered to be one of the great achievements of Portuguese democracy.
