Asaram's plea for bail to visit his ailing wife was denied by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The court noted that Asaram is currently on parole which ends on October 26. Asaram's counsel reported that he recently suffered a heart attack and is under medical care. Asaram has been convicted in two separate rape cases and is serving life sentences.

Asaram, who is currently on parole granted by the Rajasthan High Court in another rape case, had sought bail to visit his ailing wife. The court noted his parole status and will hear his appeal against conviction in the Jodhpur case after his surrender on November 17.
