Supreme Court clarifies requirements for granting civil stalking protection orders | The Highland County Press

To grant a civil stalking protection order, a court must find only that a person seeking the order believes an offender will cause mental distress if encounters continue, the Supreme Court of Ohio ruled today. In a 5-2 decision, the Supreme Court resolved competing interpretations by Ohio courts of R.C. 2903.211, a law allowing a person to petition a court for a civil stalking protection order.
