Support growing for effort to save Sibley Prairie in Brownstown Twp.

The effort to save a rare Downriver ecosystem is moving forward after being announced earlier this year. Sibley Prairie is a globally rare lake plain located off of West Road in Brownstown Township. It is a jewel of a nature preserve that stands as one of the last of its kind in southeast Michigan. Recently 440 acres — the main area that is the heart of the preserve — was put up for auction.
